Well
our year certainly started with a bang. First
the exploding golf ball followed by a mini
hurricane, which blew away the halfway
house!
At
least the sun shone for Martin &
Wendy’s Putt Out – it was when Jim and I
took to the tee that the weather took a turn
for the worse. I hope that is not an omen
for the rest of the year.
We
were delighted to be lead out to the tee by
‘Alex’, a golden retriever who has
worked as an Assistance Dog for ‘Dogs for
the Disabled’ (our chosen charity) for 8
years. For more information about our
charity – please visit their website www.dogsforthedisabled.org
Thanks
to everyone who braved the elements and
managed to at least play a few holes before
we had to submit to nature’s curse of the
Drive-In.
I
look forward to a fun year ahead working
with Jim and my Vice Captain Sue and hope to
serve the members in such a way that
continues to move the club forward and
fosters the friendly atmosphere that has
developed over the years.
Here’s
to a good year – enjoy your golf – and don’t
take it too seriously!
